Our project NORDCITY Obchodná was awarded for its innovative approach to integrating a green roof into a modern office and commercial space. The roof offers not only an aesthetic experience but also functional benefits for the users of the building and the wider surroundings. The technologies and materials used meet the highest standards of sustainability.
The Green Roof competition is an annual event that honors the best realizations of vegetation roofs. The competition aims to raise awareness of green roofs' ecological and economic benefits, such as improving the microclimate, retaining rainwater, reducing temperatures in cities.
Several aspects are evaluated:
·Architectural solution: The overall design and integration of the green roof into the architecture of the building is considered.
·Technical solution: The quality of the technical design is evaluated, including the materials and technologies used.
·Plant selection: The suitability and diversity of the vegetation used are important, contributing to biodiversity and aesthetics.
·Sustainability: The environmental benefits of the roof, such as rainwater retention, microclimate ,and improvement and energy efficiency, are taken into account.
·Current status: The current state and quality of maintenance of the green roof is assessed.
·Innovativeness: New and creative approaches in the design and functionality of the green roof are evaluated.
We believe that NORDCITY Obchodná will be an inspiration for further projects and will contribute to improving the quality of life in the urban environment.
